چکیده
Herein, we report the self-assembly and salt-induced thermoresponsive properties of amphiphilic random terpolymers consisting hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) quaternary ammonium cations, hydrophobic dodecyl groups in water.

Hierarchically Ordered Self‐Assembly of Amphiphilic Bifullerenes
A series of novel functionalised dumbbell-shaped bifullerenes in which two [5.0] pentakis-adducts of C60 are covalently connected by cyclic bismalonates were synthesised. These dimeric compounds, carrying various combinations of hydrophilic and hydrophobic addends, self-assemble in aqueous solution towards supramolecular architectures of different structural complexity as observed by cryogenic ...
متن کاملCoarse-grained simulation of amphiphilic self-assembly.
The authors present a computer simulation study of amphiphilic self-assembly performed using a computationally efficient single-site model based on Gay-Berne [J. Chem. Phys. 74, 3316 (1981)] and Lennard-Jones particles. Molecular dynamics simulations of these systems show that free self-assembly of micellar, bilayer, and inverse micelle arrangements can be readily achieved for a single model pa...
متن کاملSynthesis of the first amphiphilic pillar[6]arene and its enzyme-responsive self-assembly in water.
The first amphiphilic pillar[6]arene was successfully synthesized. It can complex with adenosine triphosphate to form vesicles in water. Moreover, these vesicles are efficiently responsive to phosphatase.
متن کاملSelf-assembly in mixtures of amphiphilic polymers and surfactants
– We present a model for the joint self-assembly of amphiphilic polymers and small amphiphilic molecules (surfactants) in a dilute aqueous solution. The polymer is assumed to consist of a hydrophilic backbone and a large number of hydrophobic side groups. Preference of the surfactant to bind to hydrophobic microdomains along the polymer induces an effective attraction between bound surfactants....
متن کاملSalt-induced self-assembly of bacteria on nanowire arrays.
Studying bacteria-nanostructure interactions is crucial to gaining controllable interfacing of biotic and abiotic components in advanced biotechnologies. For bioelectrochemical systems, tunable cell-electrode architectures offer a path toward improving performance and discovering emergent properties. As such, Sporomusa ovata cells cultured on vertical silicon nanowire arrays formed filamentous ...
